Special Projects Lab
The Special Projects Lab is open to all graduate and undergraduate students who require space for dedicated research equipment. The room is air conditioned and fed by a private gigabit network allowing for heavy traffic simulations without interference from other clients and servers on the UNB network.
Space is limited.
Undergraduate requirements:
Written permission from a CSAS faculty.
A written proposal describing the project's technical details and why it is important to your academic development.

The Christmas season is here and so is a new release of Ubuntu! The lab will be updated over the Christmas break. Now is your chance to send in your Windows and Linux wish list. What software do you want to see in the CSAS lab? Email Nick Cameron or discuss it with your CS peers on the comments page. What to expect The Windows partition will remain Windows XP SP3. Ubuntu is getting upgraded to Intrepid Ibex 8.10. There will also be some open-source gaming goodies, but you will have to wait until Christmas to find out what they are. |
New Chairs

The chairs have arrived in the lab. No more hard plastic "support." These things are fully padded and adjustable. Treat them with care! |

I am MOVING ... to a new office
You can now find me in Hazen Hall Room 350. It is located in the ITS area. Just go through HH336 and take a right.

The old magnetic card readers are no more. It has been replaced with a new proximity pass system. To sign out a proximity card just drop me a line to book an appointment. Let me know what time is best for you. ![]() The door to the lab will be unlocked on weekdays during regular hours. It will be locked 24/7 at the end of the semester so be sure to get your new key card soon if you are returning next year. Cards MUST be surrendered if you are not registered in a CSAS class. They can be returned at the assignment drop boxes just outside HH305. One is labeled "Key Card." |
New Monitor Arms

As you may have noticed, new adjustable monitor arms have been installed in the CSAS lab over the Christmas holiday. The tension on all joints can be adjusted. So, If notice one is too tight or too loose, just send me an email and I can tweak it. |
